Curriculum - The Arts

Dance

We use dance as a vehicle to develop interpersonal skills and to develop confidence and high levels of self-esteem. We offer dance to all students across the school and perform on stage at community events. We believe performing as a part of a team raises students’ expectations of themselves and challenges their skills in both coordination, musicality, and team dynamics. Dance is an integral part of our school programming. We are keen participants in the Albury Wodonga Eisteddfod each year. Our students also perform in the schools' arts festival and annual school concert. We have been requested to present at conferences and showcase student work at a variety of community events. We have every class participating in dance! We have participated in the State School Spectacular (Dance) and were National finalist in Wakakirri Dance 2021 and 2023.

Music

Bandiana Primary School offers private lessons in guitar, keyboard, drums, and voice. Children perform in a public-school concert each term to showcase their developing musicality skills. The school choir and band have presented at many community events including the Wodonga Christmas Carols. Children attend music every week.

The Performing Arts

The school directs a school musical every second year. Performers are generally in grades 3-6 and we encourage all children to audition for lead roles. We ensure all willing children have an opportunity to participate. The wider community assist with costuming and set design and we are pleased to be able to offer the performances at the “Albury Wodonga Venues”. Our last performance was  "Alice In Wonderland" to a sell our crowd at the Albury Entertainment Centre.

Fine Art

Our school values participation in the Arts and has a specialist Art teacher. Students attend Art lessons each week in which they explore design and creativity. The program nurtures each child’s individuality and involves the study of the world’s great artists and replication of such styles.
