Community - School Council

School Council has ultimate responsibility for the governance of the School. Council works with the Principal to determine the strategic direction for the school and monitors the School’s operations so as to ensure the effective management of its affairs and its ongoing viability.

School Council oversees;

Finance – overseeing the development of the school’s annual budget and ensuring proper records are kept of the school’s financial operation.

Strategic Planning – participating in the development and monitoring of the school strategic plan.

Policy Development and Review – developing, reviewing and updating policies that reflect a school’s values and support the school’s broad direction outlined in its strategic plan.

The School Council at Bandiana Primary is made up of seven delegates, the Principal, one DET representatives, and five parents. Elections are held annually for positions. Each of the elected members holds their position for two years.

The Principal is delegated responsibility for the day to day management and operation of the school. Council members act in a voluntary capacity and bring a variety of professional skills and experience to the service of the school.
