ACTIVE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS – Dance and Fitness
The Active After-school Communities (AASC) program is a national program that provides Australian primary school aged children with access to free, structured physical activity programs in the after-school timeslot. The AASC is designed to engage children in structured physical activities; our school offers two programs – Bandiana Dance Troupe and Kelly Sports
BANDIANA DANCE TROUPE
Our high energy, fun filled lessons are designed to build self-confidence, self awareness and creativity. Through the dance program your child will develop fitness, confidence and creativity skills.
Dancers possess an aura of self-confidence and an ability to enjoy themselves in public settings. Their entire mental outlook takes on a renewed sense of creativity, motivation and energy. Beyond instruction, dance opens a wide spectrum of social settings in which friendships are forged. The ability to dance is present in everyone, it only needs to be cultivated through sound instruction methods.
Our school offers two concerts for dance children to perform each year. These concerts are combined with the school music concerts.
SOCCER
Soccer is designed for children to develop basic skills in ball games, sporting activity and fitness. Regular activity has a number of proven, positive health effects, especially on heart health. Exercise can also offer other benefits, including strengthened muscles, increased flexibility, and stronger bones.
Regular activity also promises mental-health benefits, like relieving stress and anxiety. It can help you sleep better and renew your energy. Children participating in Soccer are encouraged to participate with a positive outlook, and should expect to get physical and involved in vigorous game play. The coaches of the program are encouraging and very capable, to inspire children to value personal fitness.
